The Seti Rank Tracker is a little program that will get your current stats from the Seti web site automatically, and log them to a file.

Installing

There are no special installation procedures for SetiRankTracker. Simply download the zip file, and extract in to any directory you like. Double click on the icon and you're away.

Using SetiRankTracker

Once SetiRankTracker is running, you'll see this screen:

Initial Screen

Before you can obtain your stats, you need to enter the Email address you have resistered with Seti@Home. Type this into the Seti@Home Account box. Once this is done, you can get your current stats by pressing the Update Now button. You will, of course, need to be connected to the Internet at this point. After a short pause, the display will be updated to show your stats:

First Update

If you click on Update Now again, you will see an exta column of number appear to the right of your stats. These show the differrence between the update just performed and the previous one.

Update Done

SetiRankTracker also has the ability to create a log file of your progress. To enable logging to a file, simply type in a file name in the Log File Name box. The the file already exisit, new data will be added to the end. If the file does not exist, it will be created. You can also browse for a file, using the Browse button. To stop logging to a file, simply remove the file name. A typical file will look like this:

The data contained within the log is (left to right), Date, Time, Rank, Units Returned, % Users Beated, Total Users, Total CPU Time and Average CPU time. This data can easily be imported in to a spread sheet to be process in to exciting graphs.

If you look at the above example, you'll see that the log file was updated every hour. You can set SetiRankTracker to do this for you by entering your required time interval into the Check Frequency (mins) box, and then pressing the Start button. The time to the next update will be displayed.

Updates continue until the Stop button is pressed.

When SetiRankTracker is minimised your current rank, % user beaten, units returned and the time to the next update are displayed in the title bar.
